MICHAEL BEALE and his players have been battered from pillar to post since Sunday and that comes with the territory when you let the Rangers fans down.

I know. I've been there and it is a horrible feeling.

I was over in Eindhoven and although PSV were a level above, the manner in which Rangers lost disappointed fans.

Then you bounce straight into Sunday's game and while I wasn't over-confident I thought Rangers would get a result against Celtic and it didn't happen.

You can't change the past, but you can affect the future, though, and that's the message those Rangers players should be hearing over the coming days.

There's a lot of noise just now and the only way to quieten it is to do the business on the pitch. That starts with travelling up to Perth at 12.30pm on Saturday week.

I know a lot of people want the manager out and I understand the anger but I do think it's far too early for Michael Beale to lose his job.

The international break gives everybody, inside and outside the building, the chance to calm down.
