THE husband of fraud probe Tory peer Michelle Mone yesterday accused Government officials of lying and said the couple are being treated like a "punchbag".

Glasgow-born Doug Barrowman whose PPE Medpro company is at the heart of a National Crime Agency (NCA) investigation claimed Baroness Mone and her children are "not entitled to cash from lucrative Government contracts.

She is being probed over allegations of conspiracy to defraud, fraud by false Sorry Mich & her were entitled that representation and bribery over her role in helping the firm secure £200million worth of deals during the Covid crisis. She vehemently denies any wrongdoing.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is also suing PPE Medpro, saying gowns it paid the company £122million for could not be used. In a two-page letter published online yesterday, Barrowman moaned that the Government is targeting the couple in a bid to hide its own "incompetence".
