SCOTS star Peter Mullan has revealed he nearly quit Lord of the Rings because he felt so claustrophobic in his heavy make-up.
He had to spend more than four hours a day in the make-up chair to play dwarf king Durin III in Amazon show The Rings of Power.
However, the 64-year-old told how he was on the verge of walking out on the bigbudget production after just one day because he couldn’t stand the gruelling process.
He said he felt “suffocated” and “trapped” by the make-up and prosthetics and was overheating on the set.
And he revealed he was saved after starting to wear a cool vest which pumps ice cold water around the body.
