ONE of Scotland’s top eco charities has said it expects the Scottish Government to water down plans to start replacing people’s gas boilers from 2030.
WWF Scotland said any delays to the timeline to phase out fossil fuel boilers would be “disappointing” but understandable.
But the group urged SNP and Green ministers to make sure the delayed Heat in Buildings Bill, to be launched today by Patrick Harvie, alongside a public consultation, sets out steps to move “as fast as possible” on decarbonising homes.
It comes amid reports Scots living in off-grid homes will no longer need to begin replacing fossil fuel heating systems from 2025, or from 2030 in gas-connected homes, as previous Holyrood plans had suggested.
