Aussies let Robbie Williams entertain them and world lights up

THE storms may have put paid to Scotland's showpiece Edinburgh Hogmanay street party but the rest of the world brought in 2025 with a bang.

Auckland became the first major city to bring in the new year. Thousands of revellers cheered as colourful fireworks launched from New Zealand's tallest structure, the Sky Tower.

Many also climbed the city's ring of volcanic peaks for a fireworks vantage point, as well as a light display recognising Auckland's indigenous tribes.
