Tribute paid as star makes final journey to his home town

FAMILY and friends paid their respects to Darius Campbell Danesh yesterday after the tragic star's final journey to his home town.

Actor and close friend Gerard Butler is believed to have been at the singer's funeral at Bearsden Cross Parish Church, near Glasgow.

It is understood a lone piper played Caledonia as the stage musical star's coffin was placed in the hearse.

Comedian Omid Djalili paid tribute to Darius on social media, saying: "Funeral today in Bearsden, Glasgow for Darius Campbell Danesh. Such a lovely talented man gone way too soon. People were always taken aback by how much of a true gentleman he was.
