Sister of wee boy who disappeared 47 years ago prays for breakthrough

THE sister of a toddler who vanished without trace 47 years ago has told how she is desperate for his body to be found.

Sandy Davidson was just three when he disappeared from his grandparents' garden in Irvine on April 23, 1976.

His sister Donna, who was two at the time, believes he was killed and his remains lie somewhere within the Bourtreehill community.

Now, as a new detective takes up the case, she is praying for a breakthrough which will bring her brother home after almost 48 years.

She told the Record: "There's a body out there and we need to find that body to get closure.

"My whole life I've lived with this. I just wish we could get a breakthrough and bring it to an end."
