NICK MONTGOMERY says Adam Le Fondre is one of the best strikers of his generation.

And the Hibs manager believes the veteran can be the brains of the sharpshooting Easter Road attack.

Martin Boyle was the matchwinner with a crucial double in the midweek Viaplay Cup win over St Mirren.

Dylan Vente has now scored in his last three games while Christian Doidge has given Hibs a focal point and Elie Youan's pace will menace most defences.

It is a forward line with 21 goals between five players so far this season, with Hibs having netted eight times in three games since Montgomery's arrival.

And the boss believes the experienced 36-year-old Le Fondre is the perfect foil for Vente and Doidge up front.

Ahead of the visit of Dundee Monty said: "You can coach strikers, and I've played with some very good ones, but ultimately you can't coach them where to be in the box when the ball arrives. That's a knack and Dylan has it.
