COUNTRY FANS QUARREL OVER FLAG
HARDLINERS at a country and western club have forced an emergency showdown to reverse a ban on use of the “racist” Confederate flag.
The Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow has been split by a bitter row over the flag, which has become increasingly associated with racism and is banned in several US states.
The club's members voted to keep the flag but its committee over-ruled them after deciding the blue cross was offensive.
