PM'S DISASTROUS CONFERENCE SPEECH
PRIME Minister Rishi Sunak has been reported to police after joking about former first minister Nicola Sturgeon "going down" in his Tory conference speech.
Sunak tried to make fun of the former SNP leader's legal predicament after she was arrested and questioned as part of Police Scotland's probe into her party's finances.
The Tory leader, who was addressing his party's conference in Manchester, told party members: "Today, our Union is the strongest it has been in a quarter of a century. The forces of separatism are in retreat across our country.
"Nicola Sturgeon wanted to go down in the history books as the woman who broke up our country but now it looks like she may go down for very different reasons.
Sturgeon was released without charge following her arrest back in June.
