A POPULAR chimpanzee at Edinburgh Zoo has died after a fight broke out between its troop.
Zookeepers attempted to break up the scrap between the animals but 31-yearold Rene's injuries were too severe to survive.
Another chimp named Qafzeh also sustained injuries during the incident and had to undergo an operation.
