TRIBUTES poured in yesterday for "wonderful husband and father" Terry Venables.
The former player and coach, who had a glittering career at home and abroad, passed away at 80.
He notably masterminded England's agonising run to the semi-finals of Euro 96.
His family announced the sad news yesterday.
They said: "We are totally devastated by the loss of a wonderful husband and father who passed away peacefully yesterday after a long illness.
"We would ask that privacy be given at this incredibly sad time to allow us to mourn the loss of this lovely man who we were so lucky to have had in our lives.
His death sparked an avalanche of tributes from across the sporting and celebrity world.
This was led by thousands of fans at the Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa game.
The players wore black armbands and gathered around the centre circle ahead of kick-off.
