They'll go for us hammer & Tonga

RICHIE GRAY insists Scotland must be ready to face a blast of Tongan chaos at the start of Sunday's do-or-die World Cup clash in Nice.

But he promised Gregor Townsend's men will keep their cool despite the soaring heat in the south of France.

The Scots are looking to bounce back after their opening loss to world champions South Africa in Marseille and will be fully recharged after going a fortnight between games.

Tonga's only match so far was a 59-16 defeat to Ireland on Saturday evening - but Gray insisted the Pacific Islanders were more competitive against the world No.1s than the final scoreline suggested.

He said: "They started really well, were very physical and caused Ireland a lot of problems until the Irish started to get into their shape.

"They looked dangerous, with Charles Piutau - who was once the highest-paid player in world rugby - causing a lot of issues in the backfield.
