AS MANY as 100,000 Scots are expected to head to Germany as the Tartan Army marches on to Euro 2024.
The travelling support could well be the greatest movement of Scotland fans ever.
Fans jammed sites such as Skyscanner and plotted routes by road, rail and sea, with many happy to book their flight to Germany right now then worry about internal travel later.
It is thought the Germany 2024 pilgrimage will easily top the estimated 60,000 who made the trip to the France 98 World Cup, where Scotland took on Brazil in the opening match.
Scotland won't know who they will meet until December 2 but the advanced transport network in Germany makes every one of the 10 host cities easily reachable.
Last night some fans reported buying one-way tickets in the hope of staying out there as long as Scotland's performances and personal finances can stretch.
An SFA insider said: "There will be thousands of Scotland fans hitting their computers as we speak and trying to plot their way to Germany.
"We know for sure there will be tens of thousands travelling to various cities for the finals next year but there really is a prospect of 100,000 or more getting there at some point.
"Germany is close, it has excellent travel links by road, rail and air and it guarantees an amazing fan experience for people once they get there.
