A HERO former Army cadet rushed to save an elderly man who crashed his car into the back of a bus.

Taylor Scully, 22, was travelling home from Aberdeen University when he saw the incident unfold on King Street in the city at around 3.15pm on Monday, December 11.

The mechanical engineering student watched as the pensioner drove through a deep puddle in heavy rain before ploughing straight into the back of the bus as it picked up passengers at a bus stop.

Taylor leapt out of his friend's car before quickly alerting the emergency services and administering first aid to the pensioner at the scene.

Speaking to the Record, Taylor said: "As soon as the crash happened, I just switched on immediately. I told my mate to pull over and put his hazard lights on and I leapt out of the car to rush across to help him.

"I quickly checked to make sure no one else was in the car before battling to open the door, which had been crushed by the impact of the crash.
