ANCIENT WISDOM made waves in the 2024 Derby market by lighting up gloomy Doncaster - and Charlie Appleby's year.
The prolific juvenile is 6-1 (from 12-1) for next year's Classic after his impressive Kameko Futurity Trophy success.
It ensured Appleby (below), Epsom's winning trainer in 2018 and 2021, rounded off the UK Flat season on a high.
Ancient Wisdom, comfortably best in difficult conditions, was his seventh scorer from the stable's last 14 runners.
Appleby, who incredibly drew a blank at Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood and York's Ebor meeting, supplemented the 5-4 favourite.
