LEIGH'S Oli Holmes admits he feared the worst when seeing former Castleford team-mate Luke Gale readying to pull the trigger.
Ex-England scrum-half Gale, who won Man of Steel when helping Castleford to top spot in 2017, had a glorious chance to fire a Golden Point drop goal and win Friday's game for Wakefield.
But, having already nailed a drop goal with just 19 seconds remaining of regular time to force the game into extra-time, he was pressured into forcing a pass to Max Jowitt - who skewed his effort wide.
And Leigh's Gareth O'Brien went on to slot a 90th-minute winner instead.
