WHAT the Dickens is going on? I saw a story this week that warned that many Brits face a "Dickensian" Christmas.

Just in case you'd forgotten, we live in 2022 - not the 19th Century.

But the survey found large numbers have been going cold and hungry.

A fifth of adults said they had been serving smaller portions due to the soaring cost of living.

Nearly a quarter had either run out of food or were worried they would run out.

And some 23% said they were rarely or were never able to keep comfortably warm in their living room during the previous two weeks
