NEW Liverpool boss Arne Slot quipped that he now knows why Jurgen Klopp hated 12.30pm kick-offs after watching his side labour to victory at Ipswich yesterday.
Mo Salah scored in the first game of the season for a ninth time to secure a Premier League record, five minutes after providing Diogo Jota with an assist for the goal that put Liverpool ahead.
But Slot told his players that their attitude was not good enough after seeing them out-fought by newly promoted Ipswich.
He hauled off young defender Jarell Quansah at the break and was rewarded with a second 45 minutes that delighted him. Slot said: "I learned today why Jurgen Klopp didn't like 12.30 kick-offs! I didn't like them at half-time!
