Webb's return is key to first win of Gat's second stint

WALES recorded a first win of their Guinness Six Nations campaign after beating Italy at Stadio Olimpico.

Warren Gatland’s team arrived in Rome with the wooden spoon a realistic prospect following successive defeats against Ireland, Scotland and England.

But Italy, who wasted a host of chances, now look destined to finish bottom of the Six Nations table for an 18th time as Wales climbed off the basement.

“There’s still a massive amount of growth in this team, in terms of them going forward,” said Gatland of Wales after again rotating his line-up.

“A lot of players will have learned a lot about themselves today and it wasn’t a bad Italian side.”
