TOM DALEY stood beaming on the podium, knowing his professional diving career was now complete.
He had the full set, at the fifth, and perhaps final, time of asking.
An Olympic silver medal was hanging around his neck, and will be proudly placed alongside the gold and bronze ones he has in his collection at home in the United States, where he now lives.
Daley blew kisses to the crowd in the Aquatics Arena, which included his husband Dustin Lance Black and their two children.
He looked up to his young boys, pointed to his medal and said: “That’s yours, that one”.
The couples’ eldest son Robbie, six, jumped up and down with joy, wearing a T-shirt stating: “That’s my Papa”.
