VIRGIL VAN DIJK took a swipe at bitter rivals Manchester United’s defensive-minded tactics by claiming Liverpool were the only side aiming to win their clash at Anfield.
They dominated and managed 34 shots but their 21-game scoring streak on home soil was ended as Jurgen Klopp’s side slipped up to lose top spot in the Premier League.
Following the goalless draw, the first points dropped by Liverpool on Merseyside this season, Van Dijk (above) said: “There was only one team trying to win the game but unfortunately it did not happen.
