NOAH LYLES' hopes of creating sprinting history turned to heartbreak and pain in Paris last night.
Because in the end it was Letsile Tebogo who rewrote the record books with a sensational and emotional 200m final triumph inside the Stade de France.
American sensation Lyles had been hoping to add 200m gold to the one he won in the 100m final earlier this week.
To become just the third man in the last four decades, after Carl Lewis and Usain Bolt, to do the double at the same Games.
But all Lyles could manage was third place and a bronze medal, to go with the one he won in the same event in Tokyo in 2021.
