NEW Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca insists he can finally get a return on the Blues' mammoth spending splurge.
Since Todd Boehly (inset) and Clearlake Capital bought the club in May 2022, Chelsea have splashed out more than £1bn on players.
Mauricio Pochettino appeared to be finally getting a tune out of the expensively assembled squad as Chelsea strung together five wins on the spin to sneak into the Europa Conference League.
But that run was not enough to see Pochettino retained, with Chelsea opting for Maresca on the back of his impressive debut season at Leicester where he led the Foxes back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The spending has not stopped with Chelsea tying up deals for Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman and Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, while further arrivals are expected.
