TOTO WOLFF has given the first hint that contract talks with Lewis Hamilton will be on hold while his Mercedes team tries to come up with a car that can compete at the front of the grid.
The team principal described the opening grand prix of the 2023 season as “one of the worst days in racing” after Hamilton and team-mate George Russell finished fifth and seventh in Bahrain.
The Mercedes struggles have brought the seven-time world champion’s contract situation into sharp focus.
