MORE than 100,000 motorists have been hit with £130 penalties after driving through one of London's most affluent riverside areas in the past two years.
The figures have been revealed as Hammersmith and Fulham council prepares to make a second low-traffic neighbourhood (LTN) scheme in Fulham permanent, and expanded.
Many of the fines are believed to have been issued after the second "clean air neighbourhood" in south Fulham was introduced in a bid to crack down on out of borough rat-runners.
It has sparked about 1,000 complaints and is said have caused near-gridlock on main roads in the area.
