New Hampshire is the first state to hold primary votes to choose party nominees for November's presidential election after Mr Trump overwhelmingly won Iowa's more selective Republican caucuses last week.
The former president is also dominant in state-wide polls in New Hampshire, averaging 52 per cent to about 37 per cent for Nikki Haley, below.
But continuing a tradition dating from 1960, Dixville Notch held its primary election at midnight, and awarded a clean sweep to the former South Carolina governor.
