"HEROIC" clubbers overpowered a gunman who killed five people and injured 25 more at a gay club in the US state of Colorado, authorities said today.
One of the patrons at Club Qin Colorado Springs grabbed a handgun from the attacker and hit him with it, preventing further carnage. Another clubgoer reportedly helped to pin the gunman down until police arrived late on Saturday night.
"It was quite something. It happened quite quickly. This individual was totally disabled by 12.02am. That had a lot to do with the intervention of these patrons," Colorado Springs mayor John Suthers told the New York Times.
