THE SISTER of one of two 16-year-old boys stabbed to death in south-east London today said she had been left feeling “sick to the stomach” as police questioned another teenager arrested over the murders. Lacey Bartolo said that her brother Charlie had been playing with his nephew Ollie only an hour before his death in a double killing on Saturday described by police as a “horrific” crime.
“Love you Char, I always will. I feel sick to the stomach, Ollie will remember his Uncle Char Char I promise,” Ms Bartolo wrote on Facebook, adding “wish this was not true” in another post displaying three broken heart emojis. Her tribute to her brother came as police investigating the killing of Charlie and another 16-year-old, Kearne Solanke, announced the arrest of a third 16-year-old on suspicion of their murders.
Scotland Yard described the arrest as a “positive” development in a “fast moving investigation”. The two victims were found on Saturday shortly after 5pm about a mile apart on Sewell Road in Abbey Wood and Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead. Both were suffering from lethal stab injuries.
