LONDONERS are lonelier than the rest of the country, research revealed today.
As many as 35 percent of people living in the capital report being lonely often or some of the time, compared to 28 per cent for the rest of the country, the study found, with young women being disproportionately lonely. The research was conducted by the Belonging Forum, which aims to combat loneliness.
It polled a nationally representative sample of more than 10,000 people across Britain, including more than 1,300 based in London, on questions relating to loneliness and belonging, in what it said was the biggest national poll on the subject ever conducted in this country.
