Unlike some of his peers in India's sprawling startup world, Albinder Dhindsa—Albi, to his friends—doesn't say much. He just delivers.
"I would hate to be the person who says I am a founder; I am special, so I need to be treated special," the man who set up Blinkit (Grofers in an earlier avatar) had famously said. He has been walking that talk without any break.
It's not all about a good app, there's also the personal touch. Like the time when he responded to Mumbai-based entrepreneur Ankit Sawant's post on his mother's suggestion that Blinkit should throw in some free dhaniya leaves with vegetables. Dhindsa replied promptly on X: "It's live! Everyone please thank Ankit's mom. We will polish the feature in the next couple of weeks." It was not an empty promise, as the Blinkit co-founder himself shared a screenshot that gave buyers the option to pick up 100 g of complimentary coriander leaves if certain vegetables were ordered on the app.
IT IS SUCH attention to detail that's helping Blinkit leave the competition behind by a mile.
