Zoomcar takes on Uber, Ola with new cab-hailing service
Financial Express Pune|December 21, 2024
NASDAQ-LISTED CAR-sharing platform Zoomcar has entered the competitive cab-hailing market in Bengaluru with the launch of Zoomcar Cabs, a move seen to challenge industry majors like Uber, Ola, and newer players like Namma Yatri and Shoffr.

The new service offers chauffeur-driven cars for durations ranging from two hours to over thirty days, carving a niche with features aimed at enhancing customer choice. Unlike traditional ride-hailing platforms, Zoomcar Cabs allows users to select specific car models across hatchbacks, sedans, and SUVs rather than broad vehicle categories. Pricing includes driver allowances, fuel costs, and fixed kilometre limits. The service is accessed through the Zoomcar app, where users can enter their pickup location to book a ride—a user experience mirroring its competitors' platforms.
