NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), meanwhile, issued a yellow alert for four days, till Sunday, warning of dense fog and thunderstorms due to a fresh western disturbance.
On the day, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius (°C), one degree above the normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature was 22.4°C, two degrees above normal. Gurgaon, meanwhile, logged a minimum temperature of 9.3°C on Wednesday, with the maximum at 19.9°C.
IMD forecast the minimum to rise up to 11°C by Friday, before dipping again from the next week. It forecast a maximum temperature of 21°C.
An IMD official said, "A moderate fog is likely to form in the morning for the next three days. A dense fog has been forecast for Sunday."
