Kalyan's vital bridge nearing completion, CR to install last girder
Hindustan Times Navi Mumbai|December 22, 2024
Six years after Kalyan's vital Patripul road over bridge (ROB) was demolished, the Central Railway (CR) on Sunday will finally complete rebuilding the road bridge.

MUMBAI:

The 104-year-old British-made Patripul Bridge was dismantled in November 2018, disconnecting a vital east-west connect for MMR in the Kalyan-Dombivli region.

This weekend, CR authorities will install the third and final girder over the rail lines, paving the way for the four-lane road over bridge (ROB) to be open for motorists.

But before that, CR authorities will take night blocks on December 21-22 and December 22-23 for launching girders.

The block will be between 1 am to 4:30 am for the two successive nights, when the engineers will push the steel girders, passing over the Up and Down corridors of slow and fast lines, 5th and 6th lines, on CSMT-Kalyan and Kalyan-Karjat sections.
