The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Friday hailed Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for his efforts to turn Maoist-affected Gadchiroli into a steel city, in an editorial in mouthpiece "Saamana".
Saurabha Kulshreshtha

MUMBAI:

In the editorial, the Sena (UBT) referred to Fadnavis as "Deva bhau" and said he visited Gadchiroli, the farthest district of Maharashtra in Vidarbha, on New Year's Eve and started a chapter on development.

"If CM Devendra Fadnavis is working to change the identity of Gadchiroli district from a Naxal-affected district to a steel (manufacturing) district, then one should welcome it. In the new year, CM Fadnavis has started work and selected Gadchiroli district," the editorial titled "Devabhau Abhinandan" ("Congratulations, Brother Devendra") said on Friday.
