SHIKARPUR (WEST CHAMPARAN): On the first day of his 'Pragati Yatra,' held at two locations in Bihar's West Champaran district on Monday, he left the public captivated and his opponents astonished.

In the course of the review meeting of the development works, officials of the sugarcane industry department were instructed to increase the price of sugarcane by ₹20 per quintal. An increase of ₹10 per quintal has already been made. Again, for the youth studying in the four blocks across the Gandak river abutting Uttar Pradesh, the education department was directed to open a separate degree college for these four blocks.

Held in the backdrop of opposition from the opposition parties and spate of promises made by the leader of Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, including promise to provide ₹2,500 to support economically weaker women in the state under the 'Maai Behan Maan Yojana, if his government is formed after 2025 assembly polls, free electricity, etc., CM Kumar got a warm welcome from Jeevika didis, considered a strong vote bank for Kumar and the NDA.

A section of Jeevika didis have planned protest for redressal of their demands.
