DEHRADUN:
The decision was taken in view of the large number of tourists visiting the hill state for New Year festivities.
"As snowfall is being witnessed at many places across the state, it is believed that tourists will visit Uttarakhand in large numbers for the New Year. The trend of hotel and homestay bookings also indicates that Uttarakhand will be bustling with tourists for the New Year celebrations," the Uttarakhand government said in a release.
