Among the ideas being considered is having a fixed fiveyear tenure, irrespective of early dissolution of the government.
"If a government falls before its five-year tenure ends, due to a no-confidence motion or early dissolution of government, and a caretaker government is appointed, it will serve for the remainder of the five years from the date of the appointment of the first government, and not five years from the appointment of the second," a person familiar with the matter said.
