The India State of Forest Report 2023, which was released last week, has revealed that 25% of the country is under forest cover. However, experts have been highlighting a decline of forests in the Northeast.

Over the last decade, they analyze that Nagaland, Arunachal and Mizoram seem to have lost between 700 to 1000 square kilometers of their rich forests.
