LG demands files on Ayushman Bharat, govt says it's impractical

Saxena has said that despite giving an in-principle approval for the implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme way back in 2018 and announcing it even in its budget in 2020, the Delhi government scheme has inexplicably stalled it.

Delhi health minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said that most private hospitals are not empanelled under the scheme and that the eligibility criteria that a person having a pucca house and a two wheeler will not be able to get benefits under the scheme, ensured that most residents in Delhi do not qualify.

In a statement, Bharadwaj said eligible applicants are waiting for ration cards to be issued since 2018, in the absence of which, the poor, sick patients are suffering from serious ailments and cannot avail of health benefits under other available schemes.
