DANIEL RICCIARDO will miss the Dutch Grand Prix after breaking his hand in a crash yesterday.
During practice the Aussie turned into a barrier to avoid smashing into countryman Oscar Piastri, who had lost control of his McLaren. But in doing so Ricciardo damaged his left hand and was seen holding it in agony after climbing out of his car (below).
The AlphaTauri driver (top) was then taken to hospital, where X-rays showed he had broken a metacarpal.
Red Bull junior Liam Lawson will replace him. The New Zealander, 21, has been in the Zandvoort paddock throughout this event so far and is deemed ready to make his F1 debut.
It is a blow to Ricciardo, who only returned to the grid last month after dropping out of the sport.
