THE Micheal Tanaiste Martin has called for all GAA games to be free-to-air.
He made the comments amid claims putting the best matches on the online streaming app GAAGO is a "Trojan horse" towards full pay-per-view.
Two of the standout hurling clashes so far - Limerick v Clare were and Cork v Tipperary restricted to the app, which charges users up to €12 a time to watch live games.
Critics have also pointed out that two of the upcoming best ties in the football championship, Kerry v Mayo and Galway v Tyrone, will also only be available on GAAGO.
The app charges €12 per game, three matches cost €24 or €79 for access to streamed games over the course of the season.
Speaking in Cork yesterday, Mr Martin said it was his "personal view" for a "long, long time" that fans shouldn't be subjected to extra charges to watch hurling or football games. He said: "It's something that should be reviewed.
Mr Martin said last Saturday night in Pairc Ui Chaomh was a magical occasion.
