Mayor wants visible policing after violence

THE Lord Mayor of Dublin says he feels safe walking the streets of the capital - but accepts that many people don't.

Fianna Fail councillor Daithi de Roiste says he's "not blind" to the recent spate of violence in the city - and believes there's a wide public perception the capital is not safe.

Mr de Roiste added: "I'm saying I feel safe but I one million per cent acknowledge that a lot of people don't feel safe in Dublin and I accept that that's a problem and that needs to be addressed.
