IT'S DEJA BLUE

JUST over two years ago Frank Lampard was preparing to face Wolves with one eye on the Champions League knockout stage.

But, with his Chelsea side stuck in mid-table in the Premier League, there was growing discontent at Stamford Bridge and it was no real shock when the axe fell.

Now Lampard is back in the Blues hot-seat preparing for take on Wolves once again. And once again he has one eye on the Champions League with Chelsea travelling to the Bernabeu to take on Real Madrid next Wednesday.

It’s a case of football deja vu, but Lampard is confident there’ll be a happier ending this time around.

“I look back on it with good feelings about the positives,” the former England star said of the job he did as Blues manager. “There are things I maybe could have done a bit better, I think most managers feel the same way.

“But I didn’t think I’d never be in this seat again. I’m a confident person and I have a big connection with this club. Now I’m here in a different period, a different era, and I just want to do as well as I can.”
