SHANE LOWRY feels pressure brings out his best golf as he gears up for a massive few weeks, culminating with a second Ryder Cup appearance.

The Offaly man got the call off captain Luke Donald on Sunday as Europe look to bounce back from a record defeat two years ago.

Still, before he can focus on Team Europe, Lowry will tee it up at this week's Irish Open before defending his BMW PGA Championship title in Wentworth.

"I live for the occasion and I love it. It doesn't really - apart from major championship golf - get bigger than the next couple of weeks for me. Then obviously the Ryder Cup after that is one of the biggest.

"It's an amazing month to have ahead of you.
