A FERRARI battle for the ages at their spiritual Monza home - but when the chequered flag was waved only one man was making history.
The 80,000-strong crowd had poured into the famous old circuit praying that pole-sitter Carlos Sainz, or even Charles Leclerc from third on the grid, could put the brakes on Max Verstappen.
But once Red Bull's Dutchman had pulled past Sainz around the outside of the Curva Grande there was only ever going to one outcome a record 10th consecutive win for Verstappen, who was followed home by teammate Sergio Perez.
