CHAMPIONSHIP is approaching for Galway and Shane Walsh is excited at the prospect of a long summer.
But he is expecting a tough challenge against Roscommon in Sunday’s Connacht semi-final, having come up short against Mayo in the League final last time out.
“Once you get that extra hour in the day you feel Championship football around the corner,” he said.
“Everyone is excited to get playing again. The only way to put a defeat behind you is to get out and win the next game. That is what we will try to do against Roscommon.
“Championship is where everyone wants to be. I always say you have to be ready for Championship because it will be ready for you. I think we are in a good spot, everyone is working hard.
“The League speaks for itself, three of the top teams were Connacht teams.
