EUROVISION hopefuls Wild Youth are trying to stay in a “positive mindset” – after author JK Rowling accused them of “misogyny”.
It followed the band’s sacking of their Eurovision creative director over his social media comments on transgenderism.
The band’s Eurovision preparation was thrown into chaos on Tuesday after the group “cut all ties” with Ian Banham for his social media comments about a transgender rapist convicted of a knife attack.
The situation sparked major reaction on Twitter, with Harry Potter author Rowling wading into the row, accusing the Irish act of “preening, self-satisfied misogyny”.
Wild Youth had released a statement saying they were parting ways with Ian Banham and would no longer let him “near our team” after a screenshot circulated on Twitter appearing to be from his account.
