It's 17 years since Anthony's murder.. it's long enough

THE mother of innocent murder victim Anthony Campbell has written to the Garda Commissioner demanding a meeting over the unsolved case.

Devastated Christine, whose grief drove her to move to England in 2009, wants Commissioner Drew Harris to hand the investigation over to the Serious Crime Review Team.

Anthony, 20, who had no involvement in criminality, was gunned down as he worked in gang boss Martin “Marlo” Hyland’s house in Finglas, North Dublin, on December 12, 2006.

Christine, 54, said despite meeting with Garda Assistant Commissioner Angela Wills last October, nothing has been done to help push the case forward.

She now wants to speak to Commissioner Harris in a last ditch effort to get DNA evidence retested and the investigation reviewed.

She told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “It is a short letter but from the heart. I feel at this stage he is the only one who can help move things along.

CHARGED

“Almost 17 years have gone by and there has been absolutely no progress made whatsoever. There were 21 people arrested back then... yet no one has ever been charged.
