A TEENAGER in Greater Manchester is closer than ever to seeing his dream becoming a reality.
Max Balcomb, 14, is fundraising with the help of his family to send him, along with his dance troupe, to America.
After being bullied, teased and receiving hateful comments from kids at school, his dreams are one step closer.
Max, who has been dancing since he was three years old, goes to the dance group MCR Dance & Cheer Academy in Ashton-under-Lyne.
The dance academy has had an impact on his life, as his mum, Jane Balcomb says: “They are brilliant there, and it is his second home. MCR were offering him such a fantastic opportunity.
“It is his happy place, and his safe place. He is his true self there, and everybody is so supportive.
“It hasn’t been nice, some kids can be really cruel and he has had his moments where he has wanted to quit, but we have kept him positive and he has just kept on going.”
